“It has been my privilege to sit under  Freddy’s  teaching over the years, both in a class/seminar setting and in deeply personal conversations, where I have sensed the presence of God speaking directly to me through his words. "I have had the privilege of being a student and friend of Fred's for the last few years. Under his teaching I have come to learn that having an intimate relationship with God involves more than just reading scripture and understanding theological concepts. Before sitting under Fred's spiritual direction my understanding of Gods love for me was ambiguous at best. His understanding of spirituality opened my eyes to how deep and intimate my relationship with God could be. Sitting under Fred’s teaching is deeply refreshing and different than a three point message and a nice practical application. Fred makes God’s word  come  alive in ways you’ve never thought  about. I witnessed retreat participants and graduate students lean in as he spoke. They pondered, wrestled, opened up and some even wept as Fred gently followed the Spirit’s lead meeting  listeners in their struggle with genuine care and curiosity.
