As a spiritual director Freddy has a passion to lead spiritual retreats for those who are spiritually hungry and thirsting for an encounter with God. Freddy enjoys opening the door and directing others into that sacred space that God has provided for his children to know him.
In C.S. Lewis' beloved book "The Magicians Nephew" The wood between the worlds describes an intermediary space that exists as a bridge between two worlds that allows passage from one place to the other. Prayer is that space that bridges the distance between our world and God's. Come and learn about prayer and even more so you are invited into the practice of prayer in the rich green wood that is the presence of God.
The Poem of God is a spiritual retreat designed specifically for those who are longing for spiritual renewal and encouragement. You are invited to join in on the conversation as we explore Ephesians 2:10 which says “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago (NLT).” The retreat will center on how the Holy Spirit takes our personal stories and forms a unique word that when woven together with the words given to others becomes his living poem, a relational masterpiece that reflects the nearness and love of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit to us and the world around us.
“In science we have been reading only the notes to a poem; In Christianity we find the poem itself.” ~ C.S. Lewis
When we are in the "bottom of the well" facing pain, doubt, and uncertainty in life what we long for most is not centrally for our difficulties to disappear but instead we more deeply long for companions and friends that remain "With" us in our moments of greatest need. Friends that can rightly be called our community. "With" is a spiritual retreat about how God himself joins us at the bottom, in the dark places that cause us to question who we are and what is most important to us. He teaches us how to be with each other by being with us himself. In his own words to his disciples in Matthew 28:19-20 Jesus assured his disciples by saying "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age" and in the Old Testament when Moses faced one of the most challenging moments of his life as recorded in Exodus 3:11-12 Moses asked God "Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?" God's response to Moses was to say "I will surely be with you." "With" is a spiritual retreat that explores, prays through, and reminds us that when we forget who we are God reminds us that we are "the one that God is surely with."
